When Sámi, classical and contemporary meet, music wins (concert review)

Concert review by Anu Jormalainen from Lapin Kansa.

Translation (excerpt):

The theme of the work is full of wounds: a caravan of reindeer and sleds carries the remains of the Sámi people southwards. In the sound world, both ancestral gazes and unforgettable reflections could be sensed below the skin. The melodic landscape came alive with interesting instrumental effects - different strands of sounds took us back to the Arctic nature, where the joik of Näkkäläjärvi-Länsman carried the story.
