Ruamjai is renewing and creating (concert review)

Concert review by Jemo Kettunen from Keskisuomalainen.

Translation (excerpt):

The Jyväskylä-based choir has found its own musical style and is bending to a level that few choirs can match.

(…)

The sound of Ruamjai is nakedly bright, and it has both a warm relationship with folk music and the harmonic tradition of modern choral singing. The choir is young enough to dare to experiment and perform with a hunger for freedom, yet mature enough to have found its own musical style.

(…)

Belmonte's approach to conducting seems inspiring. A conductor can inspire his choir or, despite great technical skill, get it to lock. In the end, it's all about personal chemistry.

I can't go behind the scenes, but Ruamjai, who sings in front of the music, swaying without notes, proves with his boldly indulgent singing that this is a fruitful collaboration, which the listener hopes will continue.
