Radioactivitas americio inducta (2016)

Radioactivitas americio inducta, for chamber ensemble (1111.1111.2.pno.11111), was commissioned and premiered by the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra. The premiere took place on 9th December 2016 conducted by Dima Slobodeniouk.

In this project the aim was to compose an individual piece within a given concert scheme, and in my case the following piece in the concert had to be performed without any break in the middle of the two. This fact conditioned the piece but nevertheless it kept its individuality and played a distinctive role in its position in the overall dramaturgical structure of the concert. The generative idea was, as in Déflagration sociale a chemical process as a metaphor of a social behavior: in this case the inductive radioactivity of the americium is depicted as an example of the utopian mentality of the alchemists and the human conviction of getting a preconceived result by any means, no matter how aggressive or destructive these may be.
